West End Primary School’s Headteacher, James McBride, has recently achieved the prestigious National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership (NPQEL), marking a significant milestone in his educational leadership journey. The NPQEL program equips educational leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead the strategic direction of a Trust and its constituent schools. This qualification not only expands Mr McBride’s understanding of school leadership but also enables him to support multiple schools with clear direction and focus.

James McBride: Headteacher at West End Primary School

Mr McBride said: “I undertook the NPQEL qualification with a view to improving my knowledge and understanding of school leadership and how effective leaders can support more than one school. Over the course of the 18-month qualification I gained a much greater understanding of how different models of Trusts operate and how ultimately these impact upon standards and outcomes for children.

Throughout the course I had the opportunity to hear from experienced Trust leaders and gain an insight into the differing roles within Executive Leadership which has help sharpen my focus upon my own professional development and direction. Throughout the course I was able to discuss my learning with the LET Education Trust CEO, Steve Campbell, and other members of the Trust, including Trustees. This opportunity allowed me to gain a greater understanding of how LET Education Trust operates.”

From everybody in the LET Education Trust, we want to say a huge congratulations to James for his achievement. We are incredibly proud of James’ work and his dedication to continuous improvement, and we are grateful for his strong leadership at West End Primary School.
