Aisha Siddiqa – Business Administrator Apprentice

As LET Education Trust’s business administrator apprentice I am responsible for providing general administrative support across all departments.

I am proud to be a part of a team that works hard to ensure every pupil has the tools needed to lead an independent and successful life.

I have obtained a Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Computing from Liverpool John Moores University in June 2024 and now decided to step into the Education sector with an apprenticeship to help me gain invaluable experience along with a qualification.

Having volunteered at Lancashire Women and witnessed the impact that childhood has later on in adult life made me passionate about safeguarding children and supporting them through their education.

I speak four languages: Urdu, Italian, Punjabi and English. Which I am sure will be useful for the families we work with.

Waqar Ahmed – Director of Extended Services

I have served as the Extended Services Co-ordinator at The Hollins for over 15 years, where I have developed and led pioneering, youth-led programmes that enrich arts, culture, and character education for young people. My work has always been driven by a belief in the power of young people to lead, inspire, and create meaningful change.
In 2009, I launched the Cohesion through Creativity initiative, bringing pupils together with artists and cultural organisations to produce powerful, collaborative work. This was followed in 2016 by the establishment of the ground-breaking Let’s Be Foundation – a pupil-led social action initiative that nurtures leadership skills and fosters stronger, more connected communities.
The work of Extended Services has received both regional and national recognition, winning a total of seven Educate Awards – widely regarded as the North West’s largest education awards – as well as the Northern Cultural Education Award in 2018 and 2024, and The Diana Award in 2017 and 2019. We were also awarded a Quality Mark in Extended Services by Canterbury University in recognition of our work.
I have also trained and served as both a Specialist Leader in Cultural Education (SLiCE) and a Specialist Practitioner in Education (SPE) for the East Lancashire Teaching School Alliance – roles which have allowed me to support the wider educational community in embedding creative and cultural learning into school life.
Now, as Director of Extended Services for the LET Education Trust, I am excited to unlock fresh opportunities and deliver an ambitious, trust-wide vision that further empowers young people and enhances educational outcomes across all our schools.
